Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini literally means coiled nerve or line which resides at midpoint between the navel and the tailbone (the dantian) at the base of your spine coiled 3 1/2 times.

These kundalini classes are designed to awaken this energy, to shed light on our self-imposed limitations, to think outside of the box and to develop and trust our intuitive mind.

This practice is transformative. The Kriya’s (actions eg a seed becoming a flower) and meditations are specific, not focusing on physical alignment but upon generating energy to organise a specific state - one of greater awareness, acceptance and alignment.

Within these kriyas are built-in moments of stillness where we experience the awakening to our Self. The breathwork within the kriyas is so powerful that it strips away the layers, unveiling our consciousness and delicious sweet moments of utter bliss, sensing the fullness of who we are. The kriyas strengthen your nervous system, balancing your granular system, purifying your body and calming the mind.

I have practiced kriyas leaving me blissed out, high and filled with a sense of connection and joy, and others that provoked and confronted to the very core of who I am, both physically and mentally, learning to be comfortably uncomfortable. I am constantly learning to be present, accepting both pleasure and pain as part of the same journey to health and balance. It takes concerted effort to release our egos desire for pleasure and comfort, and to be free of all definitions except the allowing, acceptance and embracing of this moment.

Kundalini accesses the truth of who we are, creating a strong soul connection, therefore 'walking the walk’, 'being the change' and radiating the light within, connecting us all.
